Should We Salute or Blame Black Women for the State of Black America?

Statistics tell us that 70% of African American women are single parents. This also means that the women are runnin’ things in African American society. They’re the bread winners and the majority tax-payers. So, can these women take credit for what’s right, and should they also be held accountable for what’s wrong?
Fifty percent of our youth either drop out of high school or acquire GED’s. It’s been said that the greatest number of new AIDS cases is among African American women. Statistics also tell us that black women bring home greater income than white women. Despite all this, fewer and fewer black men seem to be attracted to black women today. No doubt this struggle between the creators of original man has been going on for many centuries.
The black woman is a most unique species. She has been pitted against her man, children, and herself to the point of nearly being destroyed a thousand times over, but somehow, “Still she rises.”
